☑️ Material Guide

Fiberglass (FRP)

Bring a bold mid-century presence to your home with this F300-inspired lounge chair. Its flowing, low-profile silhouette pairs a richly colored red seat with a contrasting ivory frame, creating a sculptural focal point for modern interiors.

The design story behind the F300 began in the mid-1960s, when French designer Pierre Paulin created the chair for Dutch furniture maker Artifort. Its hammock-like form challenged the conventional lounge-chair silhouette and became closely associated with the experimental Space Age aesthetic of the period. GUBI later brought the design back into production as a contemporary reissue.

Features:

A Mid-Century Design Story

Pierre Paulin’s F300 was introduced in the mid-1960s in collaboration with Artifort. The original design stood out for its experimental, hammock-like shape and sculptural fiberglass structure. Its form reflected a period when designers were rethinking how furniture could look and how people could relax at home.

Sculptural Form, Relaxed Character

The chair’s sweeping seat and curved frame create a distinctive profile from every angle. A red upholstered surface brings warmth and visual depth, while the light frame keeps the overall look open and balanced.

A Statement Piece for Modern Interiors

Place it beside a reading lamp, in a living-room corner, or as an accent in a bedroom or creative studio. Its expressive shape works especially well with neutral interiors, warm wood, and other mid-century or contemporary furnishings.
